​More of Essence Photography - Terms & Conditions

At More of Essence, photography is more than a service—it’s a crafted experience rooted in presence, intention, and authenticity. These Terms & Conditions are designed to create clarity, protect both parties, and honor the energy behind each session.

By accessing this website or booking a session, you agree to the following:

✧ SERVICES

More of Essence Photography offers portrait, branding, creative, and event photography services.

Each session includes a guided experience and a final collection of edited images reflective of our signature style.

​

✧ BOOKING & RETAINER

A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session date.

This retainer covers:

  • Time reserved exclusively for you

  • Creative preparation

  • Administrative and booking costs

Remaining balances must be paid on or before the scheduled session date.

​

✧ RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS

We move with understanding, while honoring time and commitment.

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule

  • Retainers may be transferred once to a new date

  • Additional changes may require a new retainer

  • Same-day cancellations or no-shows result in forfeiture of all payments

In the case of weather or unforeseen circumstances, a new date will be arranged.

✧ TRAVEL & MILEAGE

More of Essence Photography is based in Michigan and may travel for sessions depending on location and availability.

A travel fee may apply for sessions outside of the Photographer’s standard service area. Travel fees may include:

  • Mileage

  • Parking

  • Tolls

  • Lodging, if applicable

  • Additional travel time

Travel fees will be discussed and agreed upon before the session is officially booked. Any location changes made after booking may result in an additional travel charge.

✧ LATE ARRIVAL & OVERTIME

Time is part of the experience, and each session is intentionally reserved.

Clients are expected to arrive on time and ready for their scheduled session. A grace period of 15 minutes may be allowed.

If the Client arrives more than 15 minutes late, the session may be shortened, rescheduled, or canceled at the Photographer’s discretion. Retainers and payments remain non-refundable.

If additional time is requested or needed beyond the original session time, overtime may be billed at $100 per hour, depending on availability.

✧ PERSONAL VS. COMMERCIAL USAGE

More of Essence Photography grants image usage based on the type of session booked.

​

Personal Usage

Personal use includes:

  • Posting on personal social media

  • Printing for personal display

  • Sharing with family or friends

  • Using images for personal memories or announcements

Personal images may not be sold, licensed, or used for business promotion without written permission.

​

Branding / Business Usage

Branding use includes:

  • Posting on business social media

  • Website use

  • Promotional graphics

  • Marketing content

  • Professional profiles

Branding usage is included only when a branding or business session has been booked.

 

Commercial Usage

Commercial use includes:

  • Paid advertisements

  • Product promotion

  • Merchandise

  • Album covers

  • Magazine/editorial submissions

  • Third-party brand campaigns

  • Any use intended to directly generate income beyond standard personal or branding use

Commercial usage requires written permission and may require an additional licensing fee.

Images may not be sold, transferred, edited, or licensed to another person, company, or brand without written approval from More of Essence Photography.

✧ COPYRIGHT & USAGE

All images remain the intellectual property of More of Essence Photography.

Upon full payment, the Client receives a limited, non-exclusive license to use the final edited images according to the session type booked.

The Client may not:

  • Sell the images

  • Claim the images as their own work

  • Give images to third parties for commercial use

  • Heavily alter, filter, or edit the images

  • Use images beyond the agreed usage rights

More of Essence Photography reserves the right to use final images for portfolio, website, social media, promotional, and marketing purposes unless the Client requests privacy in writing before the session.

✧ SESSION EXPERIENCE

Each session is collaborative and guided.

Clients are expected to:

  • Arrive on time

  • Be prepared for their session

  • Communicate their vision clearly

  • Respect the creative direction of the Photographer

We are not responsible for reduced coverage due to lateness or lack of participation.

​

✧ IMAGE DELIVERY

  • Final edited images are delivered within [7–14 business days]

  • Images are provided via a private online gallery

  • Editing is consistent with the More of Essence aesthetic

RAW or unedited images are not provided.

​

✧ CREATIVE DIRECTION

By booking, you acknowledge and trust the artistic vision of More of Essence Photography.

This includes:

  • Shooting style

  • Posing guidance

  • Editing and color grading

Final images will reflect our established brand and creative identity.​

​

✧ LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

While every effort is made to provide a seamless experience, More of Essence Photography is not liable for circumstances beyond control, including but not limited to:

  • Weather

  • Equipment failure

  • Illness or emergencies

In such cases, liability is limited to the total amount paid.

​

✧ FORCE MAJEURE

Neither party shall be held responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters

  • Government restrictions

  • Emergencies

Rescheduling will be prioritized when possible.

​

✧ IMAGE STORAGE

Final images are stored for a limited time of [30–90 days] after delivery.

Clients are responsible for downloading and backing up their images.

​

✧ WEBSITE USE

All content on this website—including images, text, and branding—is owned by More of Essence Photography.

Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited.

​

✧ PRIVACY

Your personal information is used solely for:

  • Booking

  • Communication

  • Service delivery

We do not sell or share your information.

​

✧ PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

A respectful environment is required at all times.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services without refund if behavior is inappropriate, unsafe, or disruptive.

✧ GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States
